If you need the phone number, address, and name of the parrish priest I can easily get that for you.>> Dear Mike: I would very much like to have the name of the Illinois St. Patrick's priest. I have no indication at all that 'my' James Carroll was in Illinois. I have only tracked him to the WI records and then he moved to Howard Co, Iowa -- which is actually not all that far from Janesville, WI. But, you are right, it might be well worthwhile to try to find some records for CARROLLs in Heartland, IL. 'My" James CARROLL was born in Ireland in 1819, and then I don't know where he was until 1852 when his daughter Alice was born, apparently in Janesville, WI. That's a lot of years when he could have been running around anywhere. Do you know why the Heartland CARROLLs came to Illinois in the first place? Do you think they came before the potato famine? [ I haven't been to Ireland, Wisconsin or Heartland, IL -- but, have been to Howard Co, IA and I don't think it resembles Ireland. :>) ] Very much appreciate your offer and look forward to hearing back from you.
