    2. Hi, I just cut and pasted some misc. info here on the Carroll families of Sullivan County, TN..I desc. from George and Sarah Carroll to their son Andrew J. "Jack" Carroll and Sallie Sams..To their son James H. Carroll b. 1892 and Elizabeth Cross Sullivan County, TN: Misc Info Starlin Carroll age 77 died 12/15/1917 (parents David and Charlotte Eatmar Carroll) bur. Childress Cem. 1850 Sull. co. census...household #136..Sterlin Caroll 63, B-N.C...Elizabeth Caroll 54 B- N.C., Andrew Caroll 25. John 24, JORDAN 22 (listed as being married within the year)..ANN 18 B- Va.(this should be Jordans wife), Benjamin 13, William 11...(end)...house hold #134..David Caroll 36, B-N.C., Charity 23 B-N.C., Starlin 6/12 (would have been born Feb. of 1850)...........1870 Sullivan co. census...household # 98 Sterling Carroll 88, B-Va. Betsy 88, B- N.C...John 47 (still at home), Caroline 35 (may be Johns wife)..Ida Cheatom 5 (unknown)..next to Sterling is household #96 David Carroll 60 B-N.C , Charity 45 B-N.C., Sterling 20, ANNIS PARKER 18, Sarah 16, George 13, David 11, Thomas 9, John 7..(Note)..in the 1860 census Charity is named Charlotte..Charity is a nick name)..also ANNIS is a daughter of David and Charlotte..in 1860 she is 7 years old...(David is living in the Kingsport Post office district in 1860)...also in 1860 near David is living Benjamin Carrol 26, Ann E 24, Henry M. 3,..M. A. Cheatam (female) 19 born N. C....this Benjamin is son of Sterlin and Elizabeth.......Madison Carroll age 19, is living in the house of Owen White..in this house is a daughter name Elizabeth Jane age 14..and could very well be the marriage of Madison that ended in a divorce in 1861.....most of these Carrolls were living between Kingsport and Blountville in the 1850-1860's..some seem to have moved more towards the district 8 in Blountville..especiall Andrew Carroll.....one other note..in the 1840 census the oldest listed Carroll was William that was 80-90 years old in 1840 also listed were 3 males..one that was 0-5..one 5-10, one that was 30-40 years old...female listed with Wm...one that was 80-90 (probly his wife)..one f/m 0-5..1 5-10,, 2 10-15,..1 that was 30-40 and would be wife of the male that was 30-40...William would have been born Ca-1750-1760..also the wife at about the same age...
