The names are certainly close. I believe, but am only going by tombstones, Starling's parents were John and Mary Kelly Carroll. I'm inclined to believe they were from NC but the family settled in IL. Any help is always greatly appreciated. Can anyone tell me where to get a copy of the Carroll book? Thanks to all you fellow Carroll researchers! Kathy
