    3. Larry, Ten years ago I was just like you. I thought Alexander Carrell dropped from the sky on his wedding day in 1783. Gradually I bombarded the message boards and mail lists for other people with Carrolls in that area. Working together we found that county boundaries changed through the years and we had to study the court records and census records for several counties and not just one. There are now over twenty-five people interested in the genealogy of the large family of Carrolls we thought were related and now with DNA, we are proving that they are related.... and we STILL have a brick wall. I have added at least one generation to my pedigree. We WILL find some parents for our Carrolls. You will too, but it will be hard work - and a lot of fun.
