Clare connection mentioned in the first posting of this thread. I'm descended from a John Carroll, carpenter and shopkeeper, who was living in Clare at the beginning of the 19th Century. He had two sons that I know of, Edward and Michael Carroll, both of whom moved to Wales where they ended up as policemen in the Pembrokeshire Constabulary. If anyone knows any more about this connection with Co. Clare, or if any of the above rings a bell, please reply. Peter Carroll.
