Regarding Scotland, I have no idea? The possiblily is there since those Carroll's were tall, strong with massive hands. I guess I am being a bit racist since my mother nee Dunne is from the small stature Irish stock (4'11" height). All I know at the moment is that my Henry Carroll moved to Liverpool circa the famine and most likely came from County Down and may have been Protestant or just married a Protestant, e.g. Mary McKibbon. Do you have any Carroll male relatives willing to get involved in the Y-DNA Carroll surname project? If so, I am involved would like to see if we have a close match. Thank you for your reply.
