I am also researching their grandfather Michael. The NC Marriage record for Michael and Betty has his last name listed as "Carrel", according to the record I see on Ancestry.com. But so far, I haven't had any luck with that spelling either. I recently visited the Temperance Cemetery in Carroll County. My great grandfather Benjamin, gg Grandfather John Workman, and (our) ggg grandfather Moses are all buried there. Best of Luck and I will absolutely share if I find anything.
