Hello Carroll listers, I'm seeking Irish roots information on my ggrandfather, Lawrence Carroll, b. abt 1842 in Ireland, d. 20 Nov 1918 in Boonton, NJ. He appears in the 1880 Census, living in Boonton, NJ. He married Rose Quigley, b. April 1856 in New York. They raised the following 8 children - William Carroll - b. Oct 1873 Anna Margaret Carroll - b. abt 1876, m. Edward Henry Grant, 22 Jun 1899, Boonton, NJ Edward Michael Carroll - b. Sep 1878, d. 1954 Joseph Carroll - b. May 1882, d. 26 Feb 1915, Boonton, NJ Mary Carroll - ? Rose Cecelia Carroll - b. Dec 1889, d. 29 Aug 1911, Boonton, NJ Charles F Carroll - b. 8 Oct 1892, m. Bertha Marie Love 18 Feb 1915, d. 11 Oct 1970 Lawrence Kenneth Carroll - b. 6 Jan 1895, m. Ethel Pittenger, d. 17 Mar 1965, Boonton, NJ He is rumored to have emigrated from Ireland during the Potato Famine. I haven't, as yet, found him among the numerous lists of passenger ships. I make the assumption that he would have been in the company of family members based on his age at the time of the famine (1846-1848). I would appreciate any info anyone might have on Lawrence Carroll, his parents/siblings, his birth in Ireland and his arrival in the US. Also interested in hearing from anyone if any of the above children trigger some connection with your Carroll cousins. Thanks. Bruce Howell bhowell1@mediaone.net
