But I don't see him having a child in GA, in 1840. He would have been in AL by that time. I descend from Leonard Carroll b. c.1774 in SC. He first appears on the 1800 Census, Pendleton District, SC with wife and two boys age, under ten. One of these boys, Samuel was born in 1798 and I descend from him. The other boy on that census we believe to be William, from what we've found. They all remained in Abbeville County, SC until around 1815. Leonard and William, along with others, are next found in Jasper County, GA, in 1820. Then in Pike County, GA, in 1830 and Tallapoosa County, AL, in 1840. This is where William has been reported to have been buried. William's wife's name was Mary. One of their boys; James Carroll, was well documented there in Tallapoosa County, AL.
