Died 1942 in Marshall co. married and lived in Blount co.for a while. So far I haven't found any of my carroll in Pike co.. If this helps let me know. Janice Janice, I don't have any known connection to your CARROLLs tho I also have CARROLLs from NC, but do know a bit on Dekalb Co, ALA - as my BRUCE grandparents lived there from the 1930's til GF's death in 1954, GM's death in 1985. My sister & I along w/cousins spent our summers at our Grandparent's house on the Mountain for several years. Then after our Grandmother died, my sister & I kept their house which we used for vacations, family Thanksgivings & cousin reunions. We sold our house to another cousin, so no longer spend time up there, tho sometimes she is up there, so I might possibly ask her if she could possibly ask about something, etc. I do know Bankhead Cem, one of the older cemeteries on Lookout Mtn in that part of Dekalb Co. (where my G-parents were both bur.) Then of course Fort Payne is the county seat of Dekalb Co., AL - also home to the music group known as Alabama, many recordings of which Christmas in Dixie is one of the well known ones. If I can be of any help, would be glad to do so, as you reminded me of a very special place in our family's lives in that part of AL. Sarah H.
