John was a lodger with the Allen family and at the time of the census was not married. He is listed as being a labourer and Margaret as a cotton worker. They were married during the second quarter 1881 in the Rochdale district of Lancashire entry number 8e134 you can obtain a copy of the marriage cert from the GRO (general records office) in England.
