Cork,...Thomas Hennessey and his wife, Nancy "Ann" Carroll brought their children to Ennismore Twp, Peterborough County, Ontario from Fermoy, Co. Cork. About 1829 or 30, Thomas was killed in a farm accident by being kicked by a horse. His widow, Anne Carroll, remarried to Patrick Flaherty from Kilworth, Co. Cork. Some of the Hennessey children stayed in Ontario Canada, but some came with Ann Carroll and her new husband, to Geneva, Ontario Co. NY. On her gravestone in St. Peter's RC Cemetery, in Geneva, NY, it says she was a native of Castlehide, Co. Cork, Ireland (Present-day Castlehyde, a couple miles from Fermoy.
