Janet - George is my 3 great grandfather, daughter Elizabeth my 2 great grandmother. I am at a brick wall with George. Only have info for Elizabeth and brother William. (William died during the War.) I noticed you (or someone else on the list) had a Jordan listed in one of the other families. William had a son Jordan who lived out his life in Campbell County. William, Jordan and Jordan's son Samuel all had the same middle name - Carter. Perhaps that is George's wife's maiden name???? I believe Anna Carroll, living in the Pebly household, might be George's daughter-in-law. There is a marriage record for Anna Pebly and Samuel Carroll in 1842 in Campbell County. Rumor has it that Samuel deserted her and their three children. I've had no luck locating Samuel and the new family he supposedly started with a second wife. The rest of the Carroll's in Campbell do not appear to be connected to George - or at least nothing has been discovered to connect them so far. I haven't found a trace of George and Mary after the 1850 census. ANYONE out there descend from George and Mary?????
