The first Carrell that I know of in my family is Joseph Carrell & his father may have been either Jacob Carrell or Joseph Carrell.Then they later changed the spelling. I first find Joseph Carrell in Richland District,SC, then later York Co,SC & Craven Co,SC.There may have been others.Joseph's daughter Martha married a William J Hugg.The Huggs also were in Richland District,SC.
