My 2x Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Carroll, born 1873 in Preston. Her father was Robert Carroll, b.1852 in Preston. Robert had a brother called Edward born c.1866 in Preston - their parents were Henry Carroll and Jane Marsden. My research has thrown up a line of hairdressers in the family, including Henry and Robert, and I also have addresses for them on Ribbleton Lane, Preston. There are entries for Henry, James and Robert Carroll as hairdressers in the 1881 Mannex & Co Directory for Preston, with Henry living at 256 Ribbleton Lane. Sounds like too many similarities to be coincidence! I currently live in Yorkshire, so am in the UK - would love to share information!
