I have not tried to find a spouse. He is the son of George W Carroll and Mildred A. Woody. Mildred and George married 22 Sep 1845. Mildred died between 1860 and 1865 because he married Adeline Victory Terry 20 Sep 1865. Victoria does not appear on the 1870 Census with George Carroll but I found the marriage record. Children of George Carroll and Mildred A Woody are: Paul A Willie A Richard B George A E Mary E Children of George Washington Carroll and Adeline Victoria Terry are: James W, Nancy Ellen (my grandmother, married James M Bryant, Jr) Hartwell Omega Olivia (married my grandfather's brother, Patrick Henry Bryant, I cannot find him with Oliver/Livia; Nancy & Oliver married brothers, my grandfather, James M. Bryant, Jr & Patrick Henry Bryant). Octavia I was told G W and Victoria had 3 other children born after 1880, I haven't really looked at that very closely. I believe the father of George Washington was Joshua Carroll, Nelson County, VA. There were 3 Carrolls on the 1840 Census in Nelson County; Joshua, Henry, and William. I found no Census for Joshua or Henry in 1850 to indicate place of birth but William Carroll is on the 1850 Census, Nelson County, Birth Place Ireland. Does anyone know if these 3 men are brothers?
