I was recently in Wells England and visited the Wells Museum behind the Abbey. There is currently an exhibition of samplers on show. One that attracted my attention was by Eleanor Morris, whom I think is the ancestors you refer to. What intrigued me was the lovely needlework inscription which read: Eleanot Morris is my name, Wales is my nation, Carmarthenshire my dwelling place and Christ is my salvation. When I am dead and in my grave and all my bones are rotten in this sampler you will find my name when I am quite forgotten". dated 1826. It has a wool backing and is embroidered with silk threads worked in cross, satin and stem stitch. I hope this is of interest.
