I hope all of you got the word that the National Geographic channel will show a new documentary on The Human Family Tree tonight at 9:00 PM. This will show the results so far of what has been learned about genetic genealogy from their worldwide DNA testing. Some of you have had your DNA tested by them or the results from FTDNA sent to them, so you will be in their results. I'm anxious to see what they have learned. Lura

Together they had three children Daniel (1696-1751), Charles and Edward. This Daniel married Eleanor Darnell and had a son also called Daniel (1730-1796) who married an Eleanor Carroll. I think it was this Daniel Carroll of Rock Creek who signed the Constitution and Articles of Confederation. Full details on my website at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ocarroll/Carroll browser/literluna.html Ronald Hoffman's excellent book Princes of Ireland, Planters of Maryland- A Carroll Saga 1500-1782 has some genealogical charts but these dont throw any light on the siblings of Daniel of Litterluna. There is another possible sibling, Col Francis Carroll who survived the Battle of the Boyne (1690) and served in France in the Irish Brigade and died in the battle of Marsaglia. I believe that my ancestor, Thomas ,was his first Lieutenant at the Boyne. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I found it interesting that you also had a Carroll-Kennedy marriage. Let me ask you, first, who is the earliest person you have information for? And would that be a birth/Baptism or a marriage? If you would like to work back and forth a bit, my email address is janfortado@comcast.net My gggrandparents married in 1813 so there is a gap between the 1500's, when the Carrolls held quite a bit of land in the Offaly/Tipperary area, and 1813. My ggrandmother, Bridgid Carroll immigrated to Illinois from County Louth near Dromskin during the famine times. She ended up outside of Kansas City, KS where she engaged in letter writing with her family in County Louth. I have about 15 of thee letters. Have not been able to get a good fix on her siblings but have some info. I met a third cousin who escorted me around County Louth a few years ago to the cemeteries where Bridgid's parents and some siblings are buried. If you want more, please email me at jbueche@san.rr.com. Would like to hear what other details you may have on Carroll family in Louth.
