Carroll of Clarke Co., VA. In the 1900 census they were listed with five children, Lewis, Edwin, Claude, Arthur and Grover. Lewis, Edwin, Claude and Arthur were in Teton Co., Montana in 1917 and 1918 where they registered for the draft. Carroll. He is buried in San Antonio with out a birth date. He died on 22 Jan 1943. One reference indicates he was a veteran of WW1. His death certificate lists his parents as unknown and place of birth unknown. This man appears to have starved to death after being run over by a hit and run driver. My niece in law is one of the Clay Co., KY Carrolls. My research, very preliminary, revealed that they were from the William Carroll lineage. The Rev. War vet whose records are at Heritage Quest. His children are recognized and available. Bad (or Devil) John Wright (The Law of Pine Mountain by Phillip K.
