As far as I know, Daniel came to America via boat into the port of Boston. Where, I have been lead to believe, they lived and possibly died there. Several of his siblings lived and died there but I have not been able to find anything out about my grandmother's brothers. I have death certs of her sisters and a marriage cert for one, but nothing on her brothers. They may never have made it here - I am going by old family stories which a few have turned out to be wrong. So on I go.My grandmother married Thomas J. Cummings in Boston. Thanks and good luck in your search. If you ever come across CARROLL's from Boston, please let me know. Again, thanks.

There is a Daniel in the 1810 census records in that county that I suspect is his father and a Mary in the 1830 census which could be his mother if Daniel died betwen 1820 and 1830. Sterling shows up on the 1830 census with his wife on the same page as Mary. Thanks, Gary Carroll

my carrolls clearly start with elijah carroll who was born in nc in about 1807 but lived in nc where he married an elizabeth _______ , had children, moved to tenn, had more children and then moved to georgia to gilmer county where the last child was born. i am fairly certain that his grandfather was william carroll from virginia who married keziah currin and lived in north carolina in the northern part at first and then in lincoln county. william carroll was in the revolutionary war and filed for a pension and died in 1835. his wife moved to tenn and died there about 10 years later. the reason i am so sure there is a relationship between my elijah and that william carroll is that elijah was living close to him in nc and close to keziah in tn. when she died he then moved to ga where other carrolls were already living and spent the rest of his life there. can anyone provide help with a connection between these two men? i have looked carefully at william's four sons, and cannot determine which of them might be his father. two of them have their families detailed at the time keziah filed for a widow's pension but the other two were not detailed. if anyone knows these lines and has clues i would be very grateful to hear about it. i can be emailed at rlpayn@aol.com ray lewis payne
