My brick wall is Jeremiah Carroll, born in NY in 1854-1894. He married Elizabeth Meehan in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada in 1873-1874. They had 4 children there, Mary, John, Thomas, Frances(1879). They then migrated to Cook co. Chicago, Illinois and had 5 more children: Jeremiah,1880, Catherine, Edward Arthur,Elizabeth, Steven. Jeremiah died in 1894 and Elizabeth in 1906 of a stroke. They are both buried in Chicago. I can only find them in one census and that is the one from Cobourg. Probably 1880. Jeremiah jr. was born in Chicago. It is said that there are relatives in NY in the poughkeepsie area. James E. Carroll, ran a meat market on Jefferson st. there. He had a lot of children also and I have most of their information. I don't know how the two connect? Thomas of NY, born 1885 was a secretary to Cardinal Hayes and James jr. and Robert Carroll, were attorney's there. I think the wife's! name was Ann Elizabeth Belton. Can you help me at all? PLEASE! Judy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They were my granddad's parents. Annie Belle died in 1914, possibly during a miscarraige. My grandpa was 9 when this happened. His father then hooked up with a Dora or Dorie Simpson, and my grandpa Ernest H. Carroll and his 2 brothers, we forced out of their home. His brothers were Luther and Henry. I beleive his brothers were taken in by family members but my grandpa lived where he could and how ever he could. My grandpa married Minnie Mae Pillion and lived in Lee County for several years. Jean died in Toronto in 1971. Mellissa passed away in Toronto in 1978. Don't know the exact dates of death. They had a daughter, Nancy and a son, Hugh. The son, Hugh, died August 31, 1992 at a young age. I assume he passed away in the Los Angeles area, but the city is not listed in the death index. I know at the time he was married to Barbara Carroll and they had two children and were living in the Los Angeles area. If anyone has any information on the above, would sure appreciate it. Thanks. Their father was Nathaniel II was married to Priscilla Downing whose father, Mackum (Malcolm) was in the Battle of Dunbar, captured by the English, and sent to the Colonies to work at the Saugus Iron Works in Lynn, MA.According to my records, they had eight children: Mary, Hannah, Nathaniel, Samuel,Elizabeth, Johanna, John, and Daniel, all of whom were born in Salem, with the exception of Danel, who was born in Boxford, MA. I have no information for Samuel with the exception of his birth date, 05 Dec. 1693. Is this correct? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
