I set out to prove that Margaret wife of Peter Carrico was the daughter of James & Janyet Gates but prove she can not be, see below. Peter CARRICO's wife Margaret could not be the daughter of James GATES & Janyet as proven by the records. [Could Ann & Margaret be the same person, that I don't know but is doubtful, I can prove that Ann Gates dau of Robert & Dorothey did marry a Peter Carrico, James is the brothere of Ann Gates Carrico] Does anyone know who Margaret is? A: James Gates died 1750 his daughter Margaret was listed as Margaret Gates, she was not married... Peter Carrico & Margaret's Children were born 1739 to about 1745, Margaret Gates was not married at ths time. See James Gates Will, only one of his daughters was married at the time of his death. B: In 1783 Margaret GATES in her mothers will was married to a Garret. See will below.
