    2. Does anyone know the ancestry of this Catholic Nun who died in Owensboro. The following obit was in the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer in July. Bob Alvey Laguna Niguel, CA Sister Mary Carmencita Carrico 20 October 1998 Sister Mary Carmencita Carrico, 78, of Maple Mount died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Mount St. Joseph. She was born in Bardstown, was an Ursuline sister of Mount St. Joseph, was in the 59th year of her religious life and entered the Mount St. Joseph Ursuline Community on Aug. 14, 1939. She taught at Precious Blood School and SS. Joseph and Paul School, both in Owensboro; St. Margaret Mary School, Mother of Good Counsel School and St. Ignatius School, all in Louisville; St. Paul School in Princeton; St. Thomas More School in Paducah; St. John School in Plattsmouth, Neb.; St. Joseph School in Paul, Neb.; and Seven Holy Founders School in Affton, Mo. She retired at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse in 1982. Survivors include a sister, Sister Mary Corda Carrico, O.S.U., of Maple Mount; a brother, James H. Carrico of Louisville; and several nephews and nieces. Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount St. Joseph Chapel in Maple Mount. Burial will be in Convent Cemetery in Maple Mount. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount St. Joseph Chapel. A wake service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount St. Joseph Chapel. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
