Hello, There were at least 3 Carpenter Stations or Forts. 1) One is near present day Hustonville, Lincoln county, KY ... http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~carpenter/ 2) ... and another is in VA ... Joseph Carpenter's family built Fort Carpenter near Covington, Augusta county, VA in the 1740s. See: (Mary) Evelyn Harlow Carpenter, "The Carpenters of Fort Carpenter 1746 - 1949" which was privately published at Covington, VA, l949. 3) ... Then ... I also have reference to another Carpenter's Fort that was on Wheeling Island in the Ohio River, near present day Wheeling, Ohio county, WV. Then it was part of Washington County, VA.
