African-American I am looking to find information on my Carpenter family. My Great Great Great Grandmother was Amanda Carpenter Tyree. She was born in 1838. She was married to Thomas Tyree born in 1835. They lived in Albemarle/Rivanna County, Virginia. They had many children but one was Nancy Tyree Smith who was my Great Great Grandmother. Nancy was married to James Tyree and they also lived in Albemarle County, Virginia. I recently got a restored 8x10 photo of Nancy Tyree Smith. That was such a blessing and act of kindness from a cousin of mine. I kissed the picture and studied her dress, glasses, hair style, fingernails, jewelry, etc. If anyone has any information about this family I would greatly appreciate you sharing.
