Hello, Again, Lanah Marie Sharpe, b. 1813 d. 1893 daughter of Jacob Sharp, married 1st JOHN CARPENTER and had ch: Jacob, Elizabeth, and Austin CARPENTER she married 2nd William W. Dekay 1816-1871 and had ch: John m. Bertha Gover the ch. Willie L. deKay; , George T, Lanah Maria m Anzi Wolfe, William W., Desdemona Larestina, Laner,and Henry E. DeKay. DeKays were located in Orange Co NY to begin with. When the NY/NJ border struggles were finally solved they owned property in both Orange Co NY and Sussex Co NJ. Notes from the will of Lanah DeKay 1871 Frankfort in the co of Sessex, NJ widow of Wm W. Dekay... ....gives to dau Lana DeKay..and John Dekay..then says, "in as much as MY CHILDREN by my FIRST husband JOHN CARPENTER, namely JACOB, ELIZABETH and AUSTIN, were provided for by the will of my father, JACOB SHARP, I therefore, by this will give them nothing."............. Lana and John DeKay execs of the will..... So, Folks, does anyone know who this JOHN CARPENTER and his ch. AUSTIN, JACOB, AND ELIZABETH were? Looking at my NJ will CD, I find reference to a JACOB SHARP and also to JACOB SHARPE, but cannot connect with the above. Phoebe
