I'm trying to find more info. regarding John Carpenter of the Hempstead L.I., NY area. He married Abigail Rhodes. These people would have lived in the mid to late 1600's. I have no dates for them. They had a daughter, Sarah Carpenter who was born around 1693 and died in 1737. She married Joshua Pettit of Newtown, Long Island.
