Does anybody recognize this couple or their children? I need help. I would really like to find some cousins out there to share this with? My grandfather talked about his Irish grandmother Mary - he had two but the other one was German. The death certificate of Levi gives his mother as Colter and his father as Carpenter (from a son in law). Same son in law gave information for name of 2nd wife as Alice Short in one place and Alice Soult in another. I would also appreciate any information on Alice born 9 Jul 1862 in Pennsylvania. All census records show Lewis and his parents were all born in Pennsylvania. Mary shows her father born in Ireland and her mother born in Pennsylvania. Poor Mary keeps getting older and her husband younger! 1850 census records Sandy Lake twp., Mercer County, Pennsylvania Lewis Carpenter, age 32, farmer wife Mary, age 38 daughter Hannah, age 13 son Robert, age 11 son Levi, age 3, my great grandfather 1860, 1870, 1880 census records Ashland twp., Clarion County, Pennsylvania Lewis, age 45, age 55, age 62 Mary, age 48, age 60, age 70 Hannah has become Cordelia, age 23, not on 1870 or 1880 Robert, age 21. age 29, 1880 living next door with wife Margaret Levi, age 13, 1870 living in Venango County with 1st wife Emma Hennage.
