I also wondered about the four children of Abigail Carpenter listed on the passenger list of the Bevis. In the outside column, looking like someone wrote in an after thought, it reads "Under." On the ship passenger list, does the word "under" mean : 1. They were under the price of an adult fare? 2. Does it mean they would sleep under as in below deck? 3. Does it mean they are listed "under" the parent? 4. Something else? I noticed above Abigayle, Dorothie Batt, her sister, and five children "under" tenne yeares. And still in the outside column is the word "under.' So, I would assume the word in the outside column would imply a specific meaning. Anyone know what it meant? Thanks, Donna
