Carpenter, b 1866 or 1867 IN. m Ida Agnes Ayres Dec. 19. 1897 Neosho CO. KA. Children born to them are: Vera A. Carpenter b 1898 Neosho Co.KA m George D. Roles Charles L. Carpenter b 1901 Neosho CO. KA. m Eugina ? Pearl M. Carpenter b April 30 1903 Erie, KA. m Albert G. Buchanan Mabel Carpenter b 1906 Neosho CO. KA. m Elmer Pittser These children were separated after their mother Ida died between 1915-1920. Pearl my grandmother, and Vera found each other sometime in the early 1960s, while living in CA. To my knowledge they were never reunited with their other siblings. My family lost contact with Vera after my grandmother passed away. I was to small to remember anything else about my family, other than what my grandmother told me about her father being hit by a train. I do not know where or when this accident happened. I last found them in Dickinson County Kansas. One of the family stories is one of the older boys died fighting in the Civil War. My Mom told me she has the gun that the Army sent back to the family along with his clothes. The family had to burn the clothes and passed the gun down. I have no idea what happened to the 2 girls. I don't know if they died young or married and moved somewhere else, or what. My great grand parents and their two children ended up in Colorado. Two of his brothers went to Washington state and another brother either stayed in Kansas or went some place else.
