    3. Dear Carpenter List, More info on the Carpenter Museum and SAR Library, Carpenter Museum P. O. Box 2 Rehoboth, MA 02769 The Carpenter Museum is NOW part of the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society. See: http://www.carpentermuseum.org/rasdefault.htm When you click on the Genealogy link, you will read that the focus of the Carpenter Museum NOW matches the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society goal. This is genealogy focused on Rehoboth and only incidentally on any particular surname. For many years, people sent their Carpenter Genealogies to the Carpenter Museum. However, the Carpenter Museum lacked the means and money to support such an effort. Fay Charpentier-Ford found this out and arranged for material and copies to be sent to the SAR - Sons of the American Revolution Library in Louisville, KY. They collect and support ancestries of surnames were used in the Revolutionary War. This includes Loyalists and Rebels families which were often the same extended family lines. This has become the defacto repository for the East Coast, while the Salt Lake City "Family History Library" (FHL) does the same for the West Coast. Fay has contacted many older Carpenter Researchers to donate their material to the SAR. This has saved many many hours and weeks of research to be preserved intact. Many shelves are dedicated to preserving this hard won Carpenter research. Now that Fay and her good husband Jerry are getting older, please consider helping them by donating your Carpenter Research to the SAR or FHL libraries. If you know of a Carpenter researcher that does not know how to pass their research on, please tell them!
