John and Phyllis - my Ambrose was born in about 1827 to Henry and Anne Hoyle Carpenter. He was born in Lincoln Co., NC and immigrated sometime before 1850 when he is found in Tishomingo, Mississippi. He married Jane Davis in 1860. He died before 1879 as his wife and children were mentioned in his fathers will as the widow of Ambrose.
