Back in 1998 some of the LIPHAM descendants and I worked to prove that Lucinda (Carpenter) Lipham's father, Thomas M. Carpenter b. Apr 23, 1810 GA was brother to James Warren Carpenter b.1813 GA. Yesterday as I was finally transcribing some more of the letters that James Warren Carpenter's wife Sallie had kept; I ran across this letter from Simon Simeon Lipham: Letter by Simon LIPHAM (b.1873) proves that THOMAS M. CARPENTER & JAMES WARREN CARPENTER of Henry County GA circa 1830 were brothers. Feb 2008: Letter now in possession of *Ethyl Merle Sumner's daughter Jackie Sumner. I sure do hope this will find you well and enjoing good health Aunt Sallie. You don't no how bad I wat to see you. I have thought of you thousands of times since I have seen you. Oh how glad I would be if I could see you. I go to Lineville a heap but I don't no where you live are I would try to come to see you. If you will come home with me I will come after you. Who are you living with? How far do you live from Lineville? All the rest of the connection is all well as far as I no of. Well sure do have a heap of rain the people has a bad time about farming. It is raining here now. My Pa and Mama is is boath dead. How bad I miss them. Mrs. BECK lives here with me. She has bin sick but she is about well I think. She is a good woman.
