Donna, I have read that land grant rights were sold to others simply because they wanted the money, but not the land. Good Morning Donna! Reuben Carpenter. Not a name we see often in our research. However, I just have to say my brother, Reuben Donald Carpenter, died on 21 December, 1983 at the age of 52 in Rock Island, Illinois from a major heart attack and complications from cancer. He married Alice Danner in 1952. There children were Max and Marion. His daughter, Marion Hart is the only survivor of his family. gc -----Original Message----- From: carpenter-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:carpenter-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Richard Soard Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2008 6:42 AM To: Donna Cuzze; carpenter@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CARPENTER] Question: Reuben Carpenter OH & John Flanders NH Donna, I have read that land grant rights were sold to others simply because they wanted the money, but not the land.
