THIS IS WHERE I FOUND A CONFLICT IN DATA. A JOHN CARPENTER WHO DIED ABT 1685 AS A CHILD WAS THE SON OF CAPTAIN JOHN CARPENTER AND MARY. YET JOHN CARPENTER IS ALSO LISTED AS AN ADULT FOR THE SAME FAMILY. IT IS HIGHLY PROBABLE THAT A CHILD NOT LISTED IN THE WILL DIED PREVIOUSLY. THE SIMPLIST EXPLANATION WAS THAT THERE WERE 2 JOHNS, ONE OF WHICH DIED VERY YOUNG. > > 3. Birthdates are Your Estimates; OK, thanks. AFN OR ANCESTRAL FILE NUMBER "FN2N-39" IS THE REFERENCE. AFNs ARE NOT LISTED ON THE BOOK STYLE REPORTS. > 4. "N.E. Marriages" vs "Colonial Families"; OK, that helps. Thanks. > YOUR'E WELCOME! > 5. MY FIRST ENTRIES OFTEN DID NOT HAVE ADEQUATE SOURCES AND REASONS FOR CHANGES IN THE DATA. AS THIS WAS YEARS AGO, I CAN (HOPEFULLY) CLAIM BEGINNERS IGNORANCE. YOUR LOGIC IS REASONABLE IN THE CHILD SEQUENCE. > 7. Bachelor as Editor of ADCSC; Ok, that helps. Thanks. > Robin THE BEST WAY TO CORRECT ERRORS IN LINEAGE IS DOCUMENTATION. I HAVE MADE MORE THAN MY SHARE OF ERRORS IN THIS. I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO TAKE ON A PART OF THE CARPENTER PUZZLE (OR LINE) AND MAKE CORRECTIONS AND POINT OUT THINGS THAT DO NOT MAKE SENSE. ROBIN, KEEP ON DOING A GOOD JOB!
