Folks, AB Carpenter book pg. 82 lists ch. of "John Carpenter 74 of John 24" This is regarding the listed children of JOHN 74 and his wife RUTH COE. # 295 Ruth. Her bd was given as "about 1720" which has to be in total error as she married first: EPHRAIM MARSTON "Jan 15 1781" who was listed as killed in the Battle of Minisink (I have seen no record of children born to them - were there any?) married next: PETER STAGG "April 29, 1788." ___________________________________________________________________ GENESA County recrods April 1, 1843 The people of the state of New York To: MAHALA STAGE, JAMES STAGE, ISAAC N. Gabriel and Ruth's children were: James Milton b 1808 m Mary Ann Timlow Bradner b 1810 m Prudence Sayer Susan b 1812 m Lewis Parkhurst Garbiel's father, Benjamin (son of Benjamin) b 1755 Goshen, OR CO, NY, d. 1832 married HANNAH FINCH, dau of JOHN and CHRISTIAN (CARPENTER) FINCH. _______________________________________________________________- Orange Co. Historical and Biographical Record pg 1125 notes that Roswell CARPENTER Coleman son of James CARPENTER Coleman who married Phoebe Meade was gr. grandson of Benjamin b 1755 who m Hannah (CARPENTER) Finch who was born 1761 (that would be the mother not the dau. above). It further states that "she" and "her" father's family were refugees of the Wyoming Massacre (1779). Does anyone know if HANNAH CARPENTER dau or wife of JOHN FITCH married BENJAMIN COLEMAN? Were the FITCH or CARPENTER families refugees of WYOMING massacre? I would like to exchange CARPENTER information with anyone who might like to help me straighten out this CARPENTER FAMILY HISTORY. Several of us have been trying 1. Figure out this "family." 2. Identify Ruth Coe and find the marriage record of John Carpenter and Ruth Coe. 3.
