Robin, Thanks so much for the information! This may be the lead I need to find my way back to the source of John Carpenter b. 1797 in VT! I had about decided that he was an alien dropped from the sky, so of course the name Roswell (as in Roswell, NM, home of extraterrestrials) gave me pause. Now I see all these Roswell CARPENTERs, I'm really excited. The Roswell who is the son of Roswell was age-mate to John b. 1797 in VT, and that Roswell was born in VT of parents from VT. The Roswell who was son/grandson of the three Timothys was age-mate to them both. So John has two Roswells his age, and one who is a generation older. The Tim-Tim-Tim Roswell had a son, Roswell, who was almost exactly the age-mate of John's son, James, who had a grandson named Roswell. Well, it makes more sense scrawled out on a sheet of paper with arrows all over the place. But the point is, there was a Roswell the age of John's father, there were two Roswells John's age, there was one Roswell the same age as John's son, James, and James had a son named Francis, and Francis had a son named Roswell. Now I need the time to dig around and find out exactly how John and James fit into this scheme. And Phoebe: does this do anything for you and/or the rest of the Lost Branch Detectives?
