Aside from all the interst in finding ancestors, there is also sometimes difficulty in finding descendants of known ancestors. I would be interested in postings from anyone who has worked on this and may have suggestions. My own "missing descendants" are in the families descended from Joseph Reeves Carpenter (1861-1905). He was born in PA, but lived in Grand Rapids MI (296 Crescent Avenue) at his death (11/01/95). He was employed by the Stickley Brothers Company. He was the half-brother of my grandfather, both sons of Virgil Murray Carpenter of Pittston PA. JRC's wife was Manette Nichols Carpenter. They had three children; Manette Lansing Carpenter (1895-?), Joseph Griswold Carpenter (1896-?), and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter. The widow Manette Nichols Carpenter is listed in the Grand Rapids city directory up through 1917, but disappears in the 1920 edition; perhaps she died, perhaps she remarried, perhaps she moved away. Daughter Manette Lansing Carpenter married Edward A. Jewell in Grand Rapids on April 4, 1914. So, aside from the general descendant search question, does anybody know anything of these Carpenters?
