Dear Bruce and John, I have enjoyed your exchanges regarding the early English ancestry of the Carpenters, and have tried to "boil it down" a bit in order to quote you. Is it correct to conclude that much of the English ancestry is unproven, and that the only positively known ancestors of the immigrants here are Alexander /A Carpenter and Priscilla (Dillon), William /B Carpenter and Abigail (_____), and James /C Carpenter, all of Wrington, Somerset? I am descended from Juliana /1 Carpenter, b.ca.1503; m. 23 July 1612, Leyden, Holland (1)George MORTON, as his 2nd w., and from her sister, Priscilla /1, bp.23 Sept. 1598, d. 28 Dec. 1689, who m.
