This is the first time I have posted anything here, but I think my sister has asked about Angeline on this site. I will post this time and hopefully someone new will read this and recognize names. Angeline Carpenter was my gr. grandmother, b. ca 1850, in IL?, lived in NE for a while, and ended up in Madison Co., AR. She married someone I have only heard referred to as "old man Magee". He was supposedly much older than she. According to a written record, they came to AR on the run with a 2-year-old child, Katherine Magee. Mr. Magee died and she m. my gr. grandfather, Andrew Jackson "Jack" Patrick in AR. They both d. there. She burned a trunk full of family records when her children were old enough to read so they wouldn't know of her past. Supposedly, according to 1880 AR census, her fr. was b. in KY and her mr. in TN.
