    3. My husband's Carpenter line is exactly like that. They moved to NC from PA in 1700s: Mathias Zimmerman/Carpenter b about 1750 in PA or Germany. Changed name in NC in about 1770 to Carpenter. He died in 1835 in Ashe Cty NC. ( m. Elizabeth Miller b about 1753 in Bucks Cty, PA.)
