Linda, RI-VT-NY connection, by any chance? My GGGgrandfather, John CARPENTER, b. 1797 in VT, had a son, Robert. I don't know his dob, but his brother James was b. about 1823. If every generation in your list was born to young parents, it could about barely fit. My bunch is from Madison County, NY, and John came from VT to NY. Okay, I'm tired, stressed, and desperate.
