    3. Thanks to John Chandler for pointing out Pembridge was not a county. The important point here is still that the distance between Staunton and Dilwyn was negligible and we have now an important piece of Carpenter family history. Likewise the "weaver" data is hardly wild speculation given the history of this family group already discovered. The material discovered subsequent to this, that connected Richard Carpenter to the cloth guilds, must be in any sceptics eye, serious evidence. We thank John Chandler.
