How fun! Comparing notes! I have just received a book of pictures that I saw on my trip to Vermont. They are photos of oil portraits of Reynolds Carpenter and wife Hannah Niles and son Joseph Ira Carpenter. Now all my life I thought I had a Hillary nose (maiden name). I found a snap shot of my grandfather Howard R. Carp. and compared it with Reynolds' portrait. Lo and Behold the noses are the same, the mouth and jaw are the same and the eyes are almost the same, alittle smaller. My grandfather was probably 5'8" or 9". To a little girl he didn't look as tall as my Dad who was 5'10! Joseph doesn't look nearly as close to my grandfather as Reynolds, my grt grt grandfather. Grandpa Joe is his son. The genes must be strong to descend that far!! Linda in Albuq.
