I was looking at the 1860 census in Bureau Co. Ill and came across a lonely Willliam Carpenter and family in the town of Fiskiliva, I think that's how it looks like it is spelled. This census was taken 12 June 1860. 547 William Carpenter 39 M Constable 1000, 200 born RI Manula " 30 F OH Evaline " 8 F IL Sarah M. " 6 F IL Wm. J. " 3 M IL Jane " 1 F IL Hopes this helps someone! I couldn't find my Joseph Ira Carpenter Family in Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., ILL where suppposedly my grt grandfather Reynolds Priestly was born, 1858, nor in Cherry Valley, still in Ashtabula Co, nor in Princeton, Bureau Co., nor in Greenville where the farm was, but I think that came later. Do I have any relatives on the list that can help? I did find an index book with Joe Ira's and Flora Barthlomew's marriage in 1857 in Ashtabula!! So I can write for that. Thanks, Linda in Albuq.
