Solomon CARPENTER was the father of two wives of my gg-grandfather, Henry HARDISTER. These were Mary and Catherine CARPENTER and the marriages occurred in the 1850-1860 time frame. At least one was in Pulaski Co., MO, according the Henry's Civil War pension files. Henry was married (at least) four times (Caroline THOMPSON / Mary and Catherine/ and Sarah ELEMS). One known child was my g-grandfather, (William) Henry HARDISTER. His mother was either Mary or Catherine. Two other children of Henry were Martha and John, but which lady was their mother is unknown. Can anyone shed any light on Solomon's family as it relates to the HARDISTER (HARDESTER) family? Is there any known Native American ancestry?
