Dear Robin, On years ending witha zero "0" the Federal Goverment conducts an annual census. On years ending with a five "5" states conduct their own census. Their are also special censuses from thime to time. Not all states have kept their records in good shape. Availability varies greatly. Go to your local Genealogy Center or Family History Center to check on the availibility of the different censuses. Some large libraries has a good genealogy section also. Some but not all of the various censuses are coming out on the web. You might want to do a key word search on "Census" and see what you find. Sincerely, John R.
