Am fairly new to Carpenter research. Posted a query earlier and Terry and others gave me some info, but still need some documentation. Keep seeing ref. to the Carpenter Memorial. Does it include Nathan and Nelly Carpenter of Civil War Era in Carroll Co MISP and John Carpenter of DeSoto County, MISP who was killed in Civil WAr. Have Jim W. Carpenter who married Cassana Crow in 1878 and was in Tate County MISP in 1880 and they are in 1920 Titus County Tx census. Two people thought he belonged to Nathan and Nelly, but he is not on any census with them. He is connected to their son William Green, but he married Cassie's sister Mary Elizabeth so not necessarily with him because he was brother. Am interested in John Crow who died in DeSoto county and had children J.B., William Travis, and J.W. This is interesting due to the fact that a JB of the correct age is in Titus County Texas along with JW and Green. Jerry gave me the William Travis as all I had was W.T. Finally found Jim W and Cassie Crow in Titus County, Tx census in 1820 living with son Walter. Jim says both his parents born in MISP. That does not help as neither of the two possible fathers was born in MISP. Cannot find them in 1900 or 1910 Titus County census (census was in terrible condition, but soundex got most of the names), so am going to try to get Soundex for 1900 and 1910 Tate and Carroll county MISP> Hav been connected to a new relative nearby and hope to get his info soon. Any help appreciated!! Have a bunch of Carpenter pictures I would like to identify.
