    1. Re: Wisconsin Carpenters
    2. As long as people are writing about Wisconsin Carpenters, I have a few lines that seemed to exist in Walworth, Lafayette, Jackson, and Clark Counties from the 1860's on. These Carpenters were out of Erie Co. New York and moved initially to McHenry Co (Chemung Twp) or Boone Co(Leroy Twp) in northern Illinois. Then they went on to Wisconsin. Joanna Carpenter (Blodgett) was near Sharon in Walworth County. David Carpenter was in Albion Twp, Jackson Co WI from ca 1857 to the 1870's, when he moved with his children Elsie (Marshall) Cynthia (Poppe), Harriet, Edgar and Howard. Jeremiah Carpenter was in Wiota, Lafayette Co before 1860, with Nancy (Hayes), William, Eliza (Bennett), Caroline (Schermerhorn), and John L. Joseph Carpenter married Nancy Ayers in Lafayette Co in 1870. Cynthia Carpenter (Schermerhorn) was in Jackson County in the 1860's as well. Anyone working on any of these lines I would be happy to exchange information with. John Laird
