I believe the Harrison County Carpenters were German and not related to Jeremiah Carpenter of Elk River History. I believe Margaret Carpenter was related to Nicholas Carpenter. It was mentioned that Jeremiah Carpenter had a brother Amos, but I do not find him in census or other VA/WV sources. If this is new information and can be proved, I would be pleased and so would many other researchers. er researchers.
